Claudia
Claudia Barbieri di Maggio was born in Italy in 1964.
After a long period in the business (Milan) and in the tourist branch (Vienna) she discovered a passion for writing.
In 1998 she moved to Warsaw where she began working as free lance and she published articles for English and German speaking newspapers.
Later in 2002 she came to the idea of writing a guide to child-friendly activities in Warsaw. Together with Kasia Miazek she wrote “The Capital for Children”, first in Polish and later in English. A mother of two children herself Claudia knew exactly what ex-pat parents needed to ensure their kids’ healthy emotional, intellectual and personal growth.
After the 2nd edition of the guidebook Claudia wrote two theatre screenplays in German: “Der trojanische Krieg” (Troy’s war) and “Der Fluch von Seth” (Seth’s doom). Both of them were performed at theatres in Warsaw in 2004 and 2005.
Claudia left Warsaw in 2006 and moved to Vienna.
There she founded with other two members the Cultural Centre “Rote(h)aare”. For the Centre she wrote stories, screenplays and articles.
In 2007 Claudia moved once again, this time to Dubai (UAE).
At present she is graduating in Linguistic and Language Science at the University of Pisa, Italy and she’s still working for Rote(h)aare Cultural Centre.
